Pupils get a chance to participate in a variety of activities during the year. Most take place after school and the ones organised by the teachers and parents are free of charge.

Wide Awake Club

The Mercy has a fantastic Wide Awake Club. Every morning Bríd and Geraldine, two of our fantastic SNAs run our Wide Awake Club, this is a facility for parents who start work early. Children can come to the school from 8.15 am where they are supervised and engaged until 8.45 am, the ladies then bring the children to their classes. Homework and After-School Clubs

Each year we run a homework club from Mon – Thurs for 2nd – 6th class pupils and an “After-School” club from 1.40pm – 2.40pm for pupils in infant classes. Contact the school office for more details.

Green Flag

Our School is proud to say that we are involved in the Green Schools and Green Homes Projects. We have received our 5th Green flag for the Green Schools project and we also have a Green flag for the Green Homes project. Girls from 4th – 6th class and some staff members are are involved on the Green Flag Committee. As a school we all work together to achieve success in these projects.

School Choir

There are 55 students in our school choir. Every year they put on a Carol service for the school at Christmas. They also sing at the school’s Communion and Confirmation services. Recently the girls have entered the AIMS (Association of Irish Musical Societies) Choral Festival, in which the have had great success with a win and a second place so far.

Student Council

Members on this council range from 2nd – 6th class. Every class has one representative who sits on the council for one year. The children meet every Tuesday afternoon and discuss a variety of issues and make plans for upcoming events. The school council run various activities during the year for local and national charities.
